Commission Pricing:
If you would like a custom piece designed, the following will
apply:
When the design is finished to scale, pricing is
calculated by square footage added to a
per-piece price. The average will be $2.00 to $4.00 per piece.
(each piece of glass cut for a particular design).
Square footage is calculated at $100 to $150 per sq. ft, depending
on the price of the glass and the complexity of the design.
Variables that I take into consideration when determining the
total cost of a stained glass project are as follows:
2.
Cost of glass and
other materials:
*Some
glass is relatively inexpensive at $4-$6 per sq. ft., but some can
be as much as $25-$50 per sq. ft. and more.
*Color and texture variances can greatly alter the price of a
project depending on the manufacturer, but there are many
alternative glass choices available so that you can get the look you
want priced within your
budget.
3. Intricate cuts:
*The
price-per-piece is based on the difficulty of the cuts.
i.e., if there are a number of straight cuts, the cost per piece
will be less than a design which requires deep curve cutting which is more labor intensive.
4.
Incorporation of beveled glass or bevel clusters, exotic glass,
jewels, or nuggets:
*See an example of a beveled glass border on
the Mastiff Design page "Samson & Moses" design .... more expensive,
but a wonderful effect.
5.
Copper
foil or lead came:
*I generally use the copper foil method with a lead came or zinc
border and chain attached for hanging in a window.
6.
A shape other than a square or rectangular project will affect the
price:
*Oval, round, or geometric shapes are generally more expensive.
7.
Free hanging zinc, lead, or optional wood framed:
*Wood
frame adds to the cost. All finished projects will have chain
attached for hanging in a window.
8.
Reinforcement needs for exceptionally large projects:
*Larger projects can become "wobbly" if not
reinforced with a thin wire at stress points.
9.
Design time:
*The
length of time it takes to design and complete the piece varies.
An intricate design is more labor intensive and will cost more.
10. Example of
Price Quote:
A project with finished dimensions of 13.5" by 19.25" = 1.80
sq. ft., incorporating 62 pieces of
glass, the price is quoted as follows:
1.80 sq. ft. x $125 = $225.00
62 pcs. @ $3/pc. = $186.00
Total = $421.00
Upon your approval of the final design, and prior to
production of your project, a 50% (non-refundable) deposit will
be required, and may be paid with your personal check, bank
cashier's check, U.S. postal money order or PayPal. Any approved final designs which
incorporate a dog's name into the project must be paid for in full before production begins.
11.
Pricing For Existing Designs:
The following prices do not include the cost of shipping
- please see number 12 below. All
designs can be adapted to your size specifications and priced
accordingly. The prices quoted are only to give you an idea of cost
based on approximate size and added optional enhancement.
You'll notice that some of
the designs on this page such as The "Bimini" or The "Sage" are
more expensive than others with the exact same finished
dimensions. This is because the backgrounds are much more
intricate than some of the designs with solid backgrounds, and
therefore more labor intensive. If you opt for a simpler
background such as the solids shown in The "Dickens" or The
"Sweet Sam", the cost is considerably less for the same sized
finished piece.....i.e., the "Dickens" design requires cutting
only 38 pieces of glass, where the "Bimini" design in the same
size has 81 pieces of glass. Backgrounds shown here are merely
to give you ideas for your custom design and can be easily
adapted to fit within your budget.
Enhanced versions are available on all designs. The price
of enhancement is based on the cost of additional glass
used, number of extra pieces to be cut or beveled glass
borders added, and square footage of finished design.
The "show theme"
backgrounds are a bit more costly since they're much more
labor intensive, but feel free to ask about any stacked
design with a simpler background design that doesn't require
as much cutting....i.e., the "Dickens", which has a nice,
simple solid background that still has a lovely colorful
effect. It's a less expensive version, and a border of
contrasting glass or bevels always adds a very nice touch.
I'll be happy to show you all kinds of color and texture
options that will blend nicely with your home decor if you
have a particular color scheme in mind.

Layaway Options
Plan
ahead for the holidays or any special occasion and give a unique
stained glass gift to friends or family with an easy 4 month
layaway plan. A minimum deposit of $100 is required, and I'll
be happy to work with you on a schedule of regular monthly
payments (non-refundable). Final payments for Christmas gifts
will be due on November 25th to guarantee delivery in time for
the holidays. My 4 month layaway plan is available all year
long.
13.Packing and
Shipping:
Shipping and related costs will be agreed upon by the buyer
and Kazia's Touch of Glass Studio.
Due to the delicate nature of shipping glass, my studio generally
ships via Fed Ex, insured, for larger stained glass pieces. Air shipment is preferred to
ground in order to secure safer handling.
Smaller items are packed very securely and can be safely sent via
UPS or sometimes regular U.S.
Postal Service. With this said, shipping costs vary according
to dimension sizes, weight,
destination, and cost of insurance.
Depending on factors such as time of year, glass
availability, and size of the project, average delivery time is 4 to
6 weeks from the time of the initial deposit. The studio will
ship only after final payments made by personal check have cleared
the bank. Postal money orders or bank cashier's check orders
will ship more quickly. I now accept PayPal.
